What does the "frequency response" of a set of headphones tell you?

The frequency response of a set of headphones is the frequency range in which the headphones can convert signals into sound. A young, healthy person’s sense of hearing ranges from around 20 Hz to around 20,000 Hz. Values below (infrasound) and above (ultrasound) this range cannot be heard by the human ear.

The following applies in general: The greater the frequency response of a set of headphones, the better.
